A Break

A Break

Synopsis

Sometimes, we just need a break. But the world refuses to stop for us. In a near-future world, a device called The Pause offers users a break from reality — total escape at the press of a button. When Sara begins relying on it to cope with emotional strain, her boyfriend Sebastian watches their relationship slip through his fingers. But when things go too far, he’s drawn into something far more complicated than just a troubled love story.

     *Crack*

The glass cup shattered to pieces on the floor.

"What the fuck is wrong with you? You could have killed me with that!" Angry Sebastian, yelling at his girlfriend.

"Good, that's what I was aiming for anyway." Sara, not backing down.

Sebastian picks up the broom and the dustpan, sweeping off the shattered glass. He's not being helpful here, he's just doing something to distract himself, to channel his energy somewhere other than turning it into rage toward his also angry girlfriend. The sound of the TV is echoing through the room, mixing in with the sounds of their argument.

"Leave it, I'll clean it later." Sara is feeling guilty for the mess, which does not make Sebastian happy but angrier.

"Will you? Will you actually? Have you ever cleaned up after yourself? All the time, I'm the one that has to take care of your shit!" Sebastian yells at her.

"When have you ever done that? Where were you when I was sick last night? You were with that BITCH!" Sara yells back.

"Don't you call her a bitch!"

"Then what is she? You cheated on me with that BITCH!"

"Oh my god....I didn't cheat on you! She's just a friend. How many times do I have to explain to you?"

"Am I not enough? Am I so ugly compared to her? What... am I just an annoying girl you happened to date?" Am I a mistake in your life/"

'YES! Yes, you are." Sebastian had enough, but regretted it immediately for blurting it out. "I'm sorry...sorry, I didn't mean that."

Sara is hurt, holding back tears. She's trying to say something hurtful back to him but nothing comes out. She backs down to the sofa, without thinking much she put both her index fingers to both sides of the temple of her head, pressing them hard. A small bluish light appears on both sides, indicating its activation.

"Sara, WAIT!" Sebastian rush to her but a second too late as Sara quickly flopped down onto the sofa, unconscious.

Sebastian let out a sigh, annoyed that she's gonna give him the silent treatment again. Nothing can be done, he left the room, leaving her by herself. There's no more sounds of a couple bickering, the sound of the TV dominates the room. A woman is introducing their new and revolutionary product, The Pause.

"In this fast-paced modern world, we’re connected more than ever… yet more exhausted than ever before. Endless emails. Demanding deadlines. Relationships stretched thin. And somehow, even with all our technology—happiness is slipping through our fingers."

"Sometimes... you just need a break. From the noise. From the pressure. From everything."

"Introducing: The Pause. A breakthrough in neural rest technology, The Pause is a safe, seamless implant that lets you... simply stop."

"When your demanding boss keepa calling you late in the morning for work purposes, just pause. When your loved ones are stressing you out, just pause. When you are too tired to go through today, just pause and skip to tomorrow"

"With zero side effects, clinically tested neuro-integrated comfort, and full cognitive preservation during downtime, The Pause gives your mind the vacation it deserves—no matter what’s happening outside."

"Call the number at the bottom of your screen for more information."

.......

Sara opens her eyes. She's lying on the floor. The floor is white, and the surroundings are white. As far as the eye can see, nothing can be seen, just pure whiteness. In here, she doesn't have to move an inch, or rather she cannot. She can just relax, no need to think about anything, just stare into the nothingness. To a third set of eyes, she just looked like she's floating in an empty vacuum of space.

Now, she has come here countless times. Every time she needs a break from life, this is the destination. In here, she doesn't have to worry about anything. No need to worry about what to eat for lunch as she won't feel any hunger, no need to worry about the outside world, and she can just take a rest.

Hours have passed in the real world, but she can't tell the time. Boredom is not an issue as whenever she's in here, she takes the time to focus on her thoughts and the well-being of her mind. All she does is just lie there, looking up to the empty white sky, or roof, she doesn't know.

Suddenly,  she's in the real world again. Maybe times move faster in there because before she knows it, she's already awake in her apartment, she wakes up from a deep sleep like any other day. She wakes up, noticing her boyfriend on the other side of the sofa working on his laptop. Still angry at him, waiting for him to start the conversation.

    "I made breakfast. Eat first."

A toast, scrambled egg, was already on the coffee table waiting for her. She gets up, takes the plate and proceeds to throw it into the trash can next to the TV.

"Can you not do this in the morning?" Sebastian pleads.

She's not answering, staying quiet, still giving him the silent treatment.

"What do you want from me? What do you want me to say?" She still doesn't answer, just shrugs her shoulders to show her response.

"I wonder who's the bitch now." He mutters to himself but loud enough, obviously meant for her to hear it. Sara's blood boiled and about to activate the pause again, already decided she didn't want to go through another day.

"Stop. You know you're not supposed to pause again now. You need to eat, your body still needs to....' Before he could finish his sentence, she pressed it and fell down to the floor.

Soon, she opens her eyes again, already on a new day. Her boyfriend is nowhere to be seen in the room. She gets up, her body feels heavy and tired. The sudden hunger produces a loud rumbling from her stomach.

She finds breakfast already ready on the table. Knowing her boyfriend is not watching, she devours the food like someone who hasn't eaten for days. But then, Sebastian walks into the room, only a split second available for her to decide her next move. She decided to stop eating and throw the half-eaten toast in the bin, hoping Sebastian didn't see her feasting on it.

"Oh for fuck sake? You're still angry at me? It's been 3 DAYS!" Sebastian is frustrated. "Alright, what do you want to hear? Just tell me so we can stop this nonsense."

    Still, no answer from Sara.

Sebastian approaches her, trying to hold her hands but she quickly evades him and distances herself.
He approaches again but Sara quickly activates The Pause again, skipping another day 3 times in a row.

"Let's just break up. Pause forever if you want. I'm sick of this." Sebastian tells the unconscious Sara, he then proceeds to leave the house, leaving his ex-girlfriend who hates him.

Meanwhile, Sara opens her eyes to a familiar sight, even though there's nothing much to be seen.  But something else is different. She suddenly gets up and sits. She didn't think much of it, moving her body naturally, even scratching the itchy back of her head.

She realised it mid-scratch, confused by this new experience. She stands up, her brain cannot compute the fact that she's standing on a hard floor but with the lack of shadow, the lack of walls, she looks like she's floating in the middle of a white background.

"Hello?" Her voice travels through the empty space. "HELLO?" She tries again, louder this time. She's getting the silent treatment this time around.

She walks, and walks, and walks, for hours maybe, but not finding anything. She tries to walk in a straight line but if she's walking in a circle, she would not know. She keeps calling for someone, anyone, so she won't have to feel this feeling of being utterly alone. Of course, no answers ever returned.

Suddenly, another sound can be heard that didn't come from her mouth. It came from her stomach instead. The rumbling stomach indicates her hunger, she needs to eat. But it's impossible, she shouldn't feel any hunger hear. But the rumbling is loud and clear,  which opens up a bunch of new questions.

"Do I need to eat here? Do I need to sleep? Pee? Poop? Can I actually die here?" All sorts of questions are flooding her mind.

Sara panics, these new possibilities are frightening her. She screams, calling for anyone, she runs and runs, searching for an exit, but all of her efforts are futile. Tears started coming down, it's getting harder for her to breathe. She's having a panic attack, falls down to the floor, trying to compose herself but fails. She faints but maybe the next time she opens her eyes, she will be back in the real world.

Sadly, that does not happen. It's been two days, she's still lying down on the hard floor, in the empty apartment without her boyfriend. Would she slowly die without anyone to save her? Luckily that won't be the case. Sebastian walks in, looking around for Sara but his view is blocked by the furniture, not seeing the still unconscious Sara. He goes straight to the bedroom, taking out a duffel bag from the closet, packing all of his belongings, ready to leave.

While walking out to the front door, his eyes are glued to his phone, texting his soon-to-be ex-girlfriend about his desire for a split in their relationship. Not properly looking in front, he accidentally kicks a leg and falls forward on the floor.

Scared, he quickly looks back, seeing a bare leg of a person sticking out. Slowly and carefully, he approaches. His heart races, but calms down after seeing the familiar face of Sara.

"Oh, you scared me. I didn't know you were here." He can relax now. "I sent you a text. Don't complain about me breaking up with you through text later. It's not like you are even awake to talk about it."

Sebastian gets up and heads to the front door. His right foot is already out but his left isn't. Suddenly he realises the fact that she's still in the same spot as before. She used The Pause so many times before so naturally he thought that she activated it again. But this time she didn't use it again after he left two days ago, and he's pretty convinced of that fact.

He drops his duffel bag, rushes to her. He's shaking her body, screaming her name, slapping her face a few times, but no response from her body. He knows something is wrong right away, he picks her up and carries her out of the house. As soon as he's out, he immediately puts her in the back seat of his car which has been parked at the side of the road. After securing her body with the seat belt, he gets to the driver's seat and searches for a nearby hospital on his phone. He looks back at Sara, realises what caused this emergency. He changes his mind, searching for the HQ of The Pause instead.

Navigating through traffic at peak hours is not easy but he manages to drive her to the destination. He stopped his car halfway on the sidewalk, the other half still on the road. A parking attendant scolds him for illegal parking but he doesn't care. He takes Sara from the back seat and carries her to the front door of this tall building.

He's screaming for help, rushing to the front door. But before he reached the door, he was stopped by two men claiming to be the security guard.

"Sir, please stop causing a scene here." Says the man with the very thick moustache.

"Help. My girlfriend's not waking up. You gotta help her." Sebastian is begging.

"Hospital is not this way pal." Says the other security guard.

"No (3x). You don't understand. My girlfriend is not waking up after using THE PAUSE!" angrily, he explained.

"Are you sure?" The guard with the moustache asked him for confirmation of that claims.

Sebastian keeps nodding, yes to the question, and both of the guards escorted him to the building. Sebastian is confused when they direct him to the side of the building instead of the front door but he's too busy to question it. They head into the underground parking and the guards lead him directly to the emergency lift.

Once again, he became confused as they ran past the lift, running through a series of hallways. Sebastian is feeling wary, stops running and slowly backs up while still carrying Sara in his arms.

"What are you doing? Let's go?" Says one of the guards.

"Where are you taking me?" Sebastian asks.

"Just follow us. You want to save your girlfriend right?" Says the other.

    "Who..who are you?"

They're not answering his question, confirming his suspicion. He's getting ready to make a dash for safety but stopped by the guards.

"Wait, we really gonna help you. Trust us."

"Why should I?" Sebastian questions them.

Before either of the two can answer, a loud slam of the door can be heard in the distance, echoing through the hallway. Stomps of feet also echoing, multiple guys running to them. With not a lot of time left to discuss, the guard with the moustache runs towards Sebastian.

Sebastian immediately turns around to run away but carrying a person in his arms slows down his movement, allowing the guard to reach his neck and pull him backwards to the ground. He put Sebastian in a chokehold, trying to render him unconscious. Gasping for air, Sebastian had to let go of his girlfriend to use his hand to defend. It was a mistake as the other guard quickly picked Sara up and ran away. Sebastian cannot escape the grip of this muscular man and soon, everything goes black as he loses consciousness.

10 minutes later, he groggily wakes up but in the backseat of a car. A young lady is sitting next to him but not the familiar face of Sara. Seeing that Sebastian is awake, she suddenly hit his thigh with a sharp needle, injecting him with a sedative.

"Who are you? What did you do to me?" He asks, still half awake. The lady didn't answer, nor did the driver or the guard with the moustache on the front passenger seat. They don't need to answer him as soon enough, the sedative takes effect on his body and he goes back to sleep.

.......

Sara opens her eyes again, but to her disappointment, she's still not back in the real world. She immediately stands up, and runs around while calling for help. She's crying at the possibility of being stuck in this place forever. But she kept running, hoping she would find an exit, hoping the possibility wouldn't become reality. But after a long run, her legs give up before she finds any exit.

She lay down, resting, contemplating whether she should still try to search for the exit that might not even exist. As she's staring at the empty white sky, she notices that the sky is no longer ... white. It's a bit grey but she's not sure if she's imagining it. She rubs her eyes and on second look, there could be no difference at all. Maybe she's just too tired and has begun hallucinating.

Speaking of which, her stomach is rumbling again. Her body needs energy to continue running. No food available, she gets up and walks slowly to preserve her energy. She tried to count her steps but after reaching thousands, she began to lose track, having to recount multiple times before she gave up.

"HELP ME!" She screams at the top of her lungs, screaming at the sky for a helping hand. And then she notices the difference again. The sky is a bit greyer than before. Not just the sky, the floor, the surroundings, everything is no longer pure white. Useless to think about it for now, she continued walking. After so long walking, she collapsed from exhaustion.

.....

Meanwhile, Sebastian wakes up from his slumber. He wakes up in a hospital bed next to dozens of others around him. They are all hooked up to machines so foreign to him, he doesn't understand their purpose. All of them look like patients in a hospital, wearing green hospital gowns. He's not wearing one, still in his clothes, not hooked up to the machines either. He looks around, confused at the big windowless room and sees Sara, at the corner of the room, lying unconscious like all the other patients.

"Sara, it's me. Open your eyes, please, wake up." Sebastian begs.

The door opens, the lady who was in the car with him walks in, and two other men he's never seen before.

'Who are you guys? Where are we?" Sebastian demands an explanation.

The lady grabs two stools and offers one for him while she takes one of the seats. Sebastian is wary, remaining standing.

"Okay, your choice." Says the lady.

"Answer my question!" he angrily asks, but he sounds terrified rather than angry.

"To cut to the chase, we're not the bad guys. We're here to help you and your girlfriend."

    "How can I trust you?"

"Let me explain. The two men who brought you here are our people, and we're not the people from the company you're expecting. We are against them, we are against their criminal product and we want to put a stop to them."

"What are you talking about? I don't understand." Sebastian is still confused.

"What an impatient man you are. Please, let me finish explaining." She insist. "The Pause is not a perfect product. They have flaws but the company try to hide them. All of these people you see are the failed result of their product. Until now, none of them have woken up, still in their coma. What we do here is keep them alive and try to find a way to wake them up, including your girlfriend."

"No, no, that can't be right. You're lying." Sebastian cannot believe her explanation, or rather he cannot accept the fact that Sara might never wake up again.

"I know it's hard for you to accept it but we promise to keep trying to wake everyone up and save them."

"What do you mean they hide it? They are not gonna help us? They have to help us, it's their own fucking fault!" Sebastian is frustrated.

"They won't. Many others have reached out to them and all of them are never to be seen again. We try to prevent them from hiding their criminal act by bringing all of you here to our secret facility so they won't be harmed."

"What about the police? Can't they do anything?" Sebastian is still not convinced.

"...(Sigh)...why did you guys make me the leader of this place? I'm so tired of having this conversation. Give the responsibility to someone else." She suddenly complained.

"Mel, just explain to the guy." Says the tall, bald guy.

"Alright, it's too complicated to explain. Basically, they have the government working with them. How do you even think this shady product even got approved in the first place? Long story short, we can't go to the police and we are the only help you're gonna get. So you can bring your girlfriend out and go to your local police station and ask for their help instead if you want." Mel's sudden tantrums are confusing Sebastian even more.

Sebastian slowly reached Sara, waiting to pick her up to leave.

"Stop. I don't mean that. Stay, please." Mel pleads.

"How do I trust you?" Sebastian asks for some assurance.

"Guys, just bring him to the others. They will convince him." Mel told the two men. The bald man just walks to the door, while Mel gestures to Sebastian to follow him. Reluctantly, he follows to understand this situation better.

"It's lunch time right now, join them for a meal. They will explain to you." This brings him to a cafeteria and he walks away.

He opened the door, walking into a normal-looking cafeteria like the one you would find in any hospital. He's looking at all of the people who stopped their conversation when they saw a new face in the building.

    "Hello?" Sebastian awkwardly greeted them.

"I'm so sorry." A man quickly connects the dots and offers him a hug. "Come sit with us."

"Who are you guys? What are you doing here?" Sebastian begins his questioning.

"I know this is hard to take, but you don't have to worry. The people here are trying to help. I'm Deen by the way." The man offers a handshake.

"I'm Lynn. My husband has been sleeping here for 4 months. Some even longer. All of us here have someone we love taken away by The Pause. You're one of us." A woman in her fourties speaks up.

"My daughter is in there, still hasn't woken up for I don't remember how long already." Another man speaks up. "This is Joy, she's 86 years old and her one and only grandson is also a victim." He points to an old lady in a wheelchair at the end of the table.

"I might be dead first before my Nate opens his eyes but if I can keep waiting and not lose hope, I'm sure a young man like you can. Be strong." Joy tells Sebastian.

"So my Sara, is not the only one?"

"Unfortunately, yes. Don't worry. We're here to offer our support. Some of us come here every day to check on our loved one and all of us support each other." Says Deen

"I appreciate it and I'm so sorry for all of you, but I need to do something. Can't we do anything? I can't just wait."

"Listen to me. What's your name man?" Deen asks. "Sebastian." He answer. "Listen to me Sebastian, I understand, we all are. We tried everything but it's best to leave this to these people because they...."

A woman suddenly slams the door open and bursts into the cafeteria.

"Lynn, your husband....again." Says the woman.

Without waiting long, she runs out of the room, followed by the others. Sebastian is still processing the sudden intrusion, the last one to leave the room. He reached back to the patient room and all he could hear is Lynn's cries, and the flat line of the EKG machine, signifying a complete absence of electrical activity in the heart of Lynn's husband.

Mel walks out of the room, leaving everyone to mourn.

"Where are you going?" Sebastian chases after her down the hallway. "Are you leaving? Are you not gonna try again to save him?" He questioned her, pulling her hand to stop her from walking away. He yanks her hand, forcing her to face him, revealing her crying face to him. Sebastian let go of her hand and let her walk away. He goes back to the room, seeing the tears falling down people's faces scares him, he could be the one to shed tears soon.

He learn that this is a normal scene here, most of the people here have already come to terms with fate. Some stopped visiting months ago, moved on with their lives. Now, it's Sebastian's time to choose, to stay or to go. He chose to stay, and days turned to weeks, weeks turned to months, Sara's eyes remained closed.

.......

Sara wakes up to a grey space. This time it's for sure, she's not hallucinating. Her eyes can see clearly the difference, but her body is too weak to move. She uses every last bit of her energy to get up, slowly walking without any direction in mind, just wandering aimlessly in the empty space. She walks and collapses, she crawls and passes out, repeating the cycle over and over again. After every cycle, the space becomes darker and darker. It's no longer grey but already black, can barely see her own body. This is torture for her, being on the verge of death but not dying, stuck in limbo, probably forever.

After too many cycles, she has given up on getting back up. Even when she's awake, she's not moving an inch and aimlessly staring into the nothingness, just like how it was in the beginning. In this black space she wonders, if it becomes pitch black, cannot even see her own hand right in front of her face, will she finally die? She cannot wait, for the suffering to end.

Unfortunately, it's not ending. The next time she opens her eyes, nothing can be seen. There's no light to allow her eyes to see anything. It's completely dark but she's still here, alive and breathing.

For the first time in here, she's thinking of Sebastian. This space is her escape from her boyfriend so not once she think of him. But now, she's thinking of him, would love to see his face again, would love to receive a hug from him. But her wishes won't come true.

Her body has enough energy to keep being just alive and she uses it to move an inch at a time. She's resilient and since there's no other option, not even death, she decided to just keep on moving until she stumbled on something.

Slowly, she creeps on the floor, moving slowly like a snail. She exhausts her energy, falls to sleep, wakes up and repeats. For god knows how long it's been, she keeps on moving. Her effort has to be futile with very low chances of success.

Until it isn't, success finally comes. Her movement comes to a stop when her head hits a block in her path. At the top of her head, she can feel something is preventing her from moving further. Hopeful, she slowly raised her hand to get a feel of it. But to her surprise, her touch feels like a person's leg.

"Who...who are you?" Someone is asking.

.......

"It was my fault. I shouldn't have ignored her." Sebastian is talking to the group of people in the cafeteria. "At first, I was angry at her. She's way too controlling. When I go out, she would tell me what to wear. When I came back, she would ask for every single detail, wanting to know everything that happened, even what kind of people I met on the street. Now looking back, I realise how little I let her into my life, she probably didn't feel involved in my life. I didn't pay enough attention to her but I gave my attention to a coworker who just listened to me better."

"I understand man. My wife was similar to yours." Deen speaks to the group. "I wish I supported her more. I wish I were there for her more. All the time I was too busy working, she's alone at home without company. Now that she's gone, I'd kill to spend more time with her. I still come here every day to offer my support to you guys because I understand what all of you are going through. If you need someone to hear your worries, I'll always be here."

"Me too." Says another woman, offering support. A few others also volunteer.

Every day, they talk about their struggles with each other. These talks have been helping Sebastian keep his peace with the fact that Sara is still lying down, half dead. The guilty feeling in his chest is heavy, hoping he could turn back time, to the time when he should have prevented Sara from getting that cursed product. Perhaps, even before that, by preventing the need for her to even think about it.

But, this daily visit is slowly becoming a burden to him. He abandoned his girlfriend once, he doesn't have the heart to do it again. But moving on with his life might be a good idea, because he also needs to find his own happiness.

"You're staying late again?" says Mel at the door to Sebastian, sitting by the side of Sara's bed.

"I'll leave in a sec." He reply.

Mel walks away, leaving him with her beloved girlfriend. Sebastian looks at the time, almost 11PM, and he should go home soon. He picks up his bag from the floor, and touches Sara's face for the last time of the day before leaving.

    *Beep* (10x)

Something weird is happening. As soon as his hand make contact with her face, she begins to twitch, shaking uncontrollably. The weird part is, she's not the only one. The guy in the next bed, the woman in the other, everyone in the room, are suddenly experiencing tremors. All of the EKG machines are beeping like crazy, intensifying the situation.

"MEL!" Sebastian runs out of the door, calling for Mel.

She hasn't gone far and turned around right away. Quickly, she runs back to the room, joining Sebastian in shock. A few other personnel appear, reacting to the emergency. But once all of them set foot in the room, all of them froze, not sure where to begin.

"Sara! Wakes up." Sebastian put both of his hands on Sara's shoulder, trying to keep her still. But the moment he touches her, he feels a shock, he falls to the ground, unconscious.

......

"Hello!" Sebastian wakes up in a dark room, not able to see anything.

'HELLO!" He screams loudly. He moves carefully, navigating through the dark. Suddenly her cries got a response.

"Over here." He can hear someone's voice in the distance.

He walks slowly until he can feel his foot kicking something, a person. He reaches down to feel the person but to his surprise, he's not touching a person, but he's touching multiple of them. He can feel more than a pair of hands, more than a pair of legs.

A hand suddenly grabs his, she's asking him a question. "Who are you?"

    Sebastian recognised the voice. "Sara?"

"Seb...Sebastian?" Sara could not believe it.

Sebastian hugs her right away, crying, apologising to her.

"How...did.. you get here?" Sara's scared that he could fall into the same fate.

But his fate is different, because soon after before he can reply, he gets pushed back to reality, falling down to the floor in agony.

"Sebastian, what happened?" Mel rushed to him.

"I...I was with her. I was with them." He tries to explain.

"What do you mean?" Mel is still confused.

"I was with her. I felt her, I touched her!"

"Hey, calm down. Explain to me, quickly." Mel demands.

"I was in that space. The space they said they will go to. It was dark, I couldn't see anyone, but I touched them, I felt them. All of them are there together." Sebastian tries his best to make them understand.

Mel takes a moment to think. "It makes sense." She slowly whispered to herself.

"What makes sense? Mel?" The bald guy heard her and asked.

“If their consciousnesses are all linked inside that system, maybe they’re building neural feedback. A surge.” She starts pacing. “Our brains produce electrical signals, but put all of them in a loop, like an overloaded extension cord...”

She looks up, eyes wide. “If we add more energy—more bodies—we might be able to blow the fuse. Force them all out.”

"What the hell are you saying? What's happening to Sara?" Sebastian doesn't understand, worried after looking at Sara's body who is still in a spasm.

"Everyone stand next to each patient. On the count of three all of us touch them, complete a circle loop, like a wire connecting everyone." Mel gives orders to everyone. The personnel take their position right away, so does Sebastian who's eager to save his girlfriend.

"What if this kills them instead?" The bald guy asked her quietly in the noisy room to not scare anyone.

"..... Just do it." Mel orders him, hesitating but decides to take responsibility for any outcome.

All of them take their position. All of them are ready. Mel is not, feeling the heavy responsibility.

"Mel! What are you waiting for?" Sebastian yells across the room.

    “...One...”

    “...Two...”

    “...Three!”

.......

In the fine morning, people are rushing to work. The crowd of people looks like a bunch of noise from afar. Each one of them, represents a unique life of a person.

On the road, cars are barely moving. The traffic is slow, adding more agony to those who are already late for a morning meeting with their boss. Honking sounds fill the air, urging everyone else to move. One of the honk are directed to a yellow station wagon, that has been left on the road.

"Hey! Move your car you idiot.!" An angry taxi driver sticks his head out of the window, yelling at the owner of the car.

He's not listening, busy taking his girlfriend out of the back seat. She appears unconscious, carried by him in his arms towards a large building. The crowd of people notice the emergency and makes some space for them.

"Help! My wife is not waking up!" yells the husband.

Before he reaches the entrance, a man and a woman stop him, claiming to be the security guard.

"Sorry, this is not a hospital." Sebastian says to the man.

"No. I'm not going to the hospital. I need to get there, inside the building. My wife ... my wife is still not waking up. She.. she...." the man explained.

"Alright. We understand. Follow us." Sara cut him off. They both lead the husband carrying his unconscious wife away from the scene.
